SUMMARY:Q1 Briefing - Voters Not Politicians: Inside the Strategy to Protect Fair Redistricting
DESCRIPTION:When politicians draw their own districts\, they insulate themselves from accountability. Voters’ most important issues are sidelined\, and the government becomes disconnected from the people it represents. Utah Donor Collaborative invites you to join us for an exclusive webinar\, “Voters Not Politicians: Inside the Strategy to Defend Fair Redistricting\,” featuring Elizabeth Rasmussen of Better Boundaries\, Alan Metni of the Democratic Policy Institute\, and attorney David Reymann of Parr Brown Gee & Loveless.  \nUtah Donor Collaborative is committed to bringing balanced political representation to Utah. Our briefing will provide an insider’s look at the multi-front effort to protect Utah’s independent redistricting process through the signature removal campaign\, litigation\, and legislative lobbying. Our partners will discuss the immediate fight against the repeal of Proposition 4 and the critical work to preserve judicial independence and the right to ballot initiative during the 2026 Legislative Session. Looking ahead to the November ballot\, we will also outline strategies to defeat ballot measures that threaten to undermine citizen initiatives.  \nLearn how our partners are utilizing data-driven tactics to empower voters and ensure their voices remain the center of our democracy. Register now to hear directly from the leaders on the front lines of defending fair redistricting in Utah.

SUMMARY:Q4 Briefing: Seismic Disruption\, Transformational Opportunity
DESCRIPTION:It’s Possible Together: the Case for Utah \nUtah’s political landscape is transforming; the state has moved further left than any other state in the past twenty years. Utah’s rapid growth\, changing demographics\, and highly educated population present an opportunity to change our political outcomes. \nThe state’s transformation is now super-charged by a seismic disruption – court-ordered congressional maps that limit partisan gerrymandering. This presents a winning opportunity for Utah to deliver for our country and our state. However\, as an emerging state with still-nascent infrastructure\, significant capacity gaps exist that\, if not addressed\, could hinder our effort to seize this opportunity. \nJoin the Strategic Victory Fund\, Committee on States\, Rural West Project\, and Utah Donor Collaborative for a discussion on why winning Utah is critical to our nation’s hopes for the 2026 election. This is a virtual zoom meeting. \nYou must register here to participate.

SUMMARY:Fair Maps for Utahns: Living Room Event
DESCRIPTION:By invitation only \nSeven years after the fight began\, Utah’s ongoing gerrymandering lawsuit has delivered two affirmative and unanimous decisions in favor of voters – setting precedent used recently in New Hampshire and enshrining our right to reform our government through the ballot initiative. \nNow the court has ordered the Utah State Legislature to re-draw the Congressional Map following the voter-centered standards of Proposition 4\, passed in 2018 by voters\, but repealed by the Republican Supermajority legislature. \nThe success of this fight is just one example of Utah’s political transformation. Whether you care about air quality and the Great Salt Lake or reproductive rights and abortion access\, Utah must have a strong political ecosystem at the ready to combat unchecked power and self-serving politicians. We’d like to know what Utah issues most concern you\, what gaps you perceive\,  and how the UDC might help address those concerns. \nJoin Utah Donor Collaborative in ensuring we have a democratic\, representative\, and responsive state government. Our investors and state-based\, civic engagement partners are foundational to creating and sustaining progressive change in Utah. We are the coordinating organization that brings them all together. \nI hope you’ll join us for an evening of drinks\, nibbles\, and an honest conversation about our progress towards a just Utah – what barriers exist\, and what opportunities are available. We welcome you to consider supporting our effort. \n\nDate & Time: September 24\, 6:00 – 7:30 pm\nInterested in attending? Email katie@utahdonorcollaborative.com

SUMMARY:Q3 Briefing: Impactful Donations\, An OATH Primer
DESCRIPTION:Utah Donor Collaborative is transforming the political landscape in Utah\, working to bring fairness\, justice\, and opportunity to all Utah residents.  Together with the Utah Women and Politics PAC’s generous $10\,000 match\, we are working to direct resources to the candidates and coalitions that can bring balanced political representation to our state and reflect the voices of our communities. \nThis cycle\, OATH is focused on four strategic priorities: electing women leaders to close the equality gap\, elevating BIPOC\, LGBTQ+\, and Gen Z candidates to ensure Utah’s diverse and growing population is represented\, expanding our base outside of Salt Lake by seeding leadership in communities across the state\, and flipping competitive seats to restore principled leadership. \nJoin us on Monday\, September 22 at noon for our quarterly online briefing. You will hear directly from the Utah Women and Politics PAC leadership about why they are matching this year and why you should give too! A link to register is below. \nSmarter Giving → Bigger Impact \nOATH directs resources to vetted candidates and races where early\, concentrated support can flip districts and shift outcomes. \nDouble Your Impact \nYour generosity can be matched! We are maximizing your impact with a $10\,000 match. \nPowering Political Change \nUtah is young and growing. By funding young and diverse leaders\, OATH is helping build a more inclusive and representative democracy.

SUMMARY:Better Boundaries Webinar: Big Wins\, Big Plans
DESCRIPTION:Better Boundaries\, with the incredible support of Utah donors\, has achieved two major victories in 2024: the Utah Supreme Court ruled Utahns have a right to reform their government in Utah’s anti-gerrymandering litigation and then they voided Amendment D\, ensuring misleading language can not be on Utahns’ ballots. \nBetter Boundaries is hosting a Zoom discussion about Utah’s election reform future. They’re bringing together a select group of dedicated donors to connect directly with our leadership team and David Reymann\, attorney for the plaintiffs\, Katie Dahl\, who is spearheading the Utah Reform Project\, and Ryan Bell\, Better Boundaries Board Member. \nDecember 9th from 12-1pm MT\, they’ll discuss their vision through 2026\, share updates on the anti-gerrymandering litigation\, and dive into Amendment D\, and explore what’s ahead for government reform and the Utah Reform Project. \nIf you’re interested in attending\, email katie@betterboundaries.org

SUMMARY:Strategic Briefing: Igniting the Power of Utah's Youth
DESCRIPTION:Outside of politics\, Utah is well known for its red rocks and scenic national parks. Within politics we’re well known for our red domination – every statewide office\, our entire federal delegation\, and a super majority in both the state house and senate. \nBut we’re not just super red\, we’re also super young. Utah is the nation’s fastest-growing and youngest state. And data demonstrates that young people\, especially the well-educated (Utah is ranked third highest for educational attainment)\, are not comfortable voting like their parents did. \nUtah Donor Collaborative is pleased to announce we’re launching Utah’s first-ever youth organizing entity with the support of Alliance for Youth Action. Join us for this briefing to meet Ignite! Utah’s new executive director\, hear from Alliance for Youth Action’s executive director\, Dakota Hall\, and leave as inspired as we are about the future of our state. \nClick here to register.
