We’re Hiring! Youth Organizing Executive Director

Utah is the nation’s fastest-growing and youngest state. And data demonstrates that young people, especially those with higher ed degrees (Utah is ranked third highest for educational attainment), are not comfortable voting like their parents did. Our youth are also diverse; approximately one in four Utahns are non-white and non-white people are responsible for 61% of Utah’s growth between 2021 and 2022.

Our beautiful, big, youthful, and growing western state needs an organization built for young people, by young people to represent the values and implement solutions that bring Utah closer to a place where freedom and justice is for ALL of us.

Born as an initiative of the Utah Donor Collaborative and grown using matching funds from the Alliance for Youth Action and other partners, IGNITE! UTAH  is excited to announce its search for a founding Executive Director. We envision an organization dedicated to reaching ALL young Utahns at colleges and technical schools and near their parents’ homes. We need YOUR energy, passion, love of Utah, and desire to keep it beautiful, free, and fair.

The right candidate will immediately design and launch a civic engagement program for the 2024 election cycle focused on the West Side of Salt Lake City, specifically engaging young people as leaders and organizers. Post-election, there is an opportunity to transition the role into a full-time, salaried position. The focus will then evolve to a year-round, statewide youth organizing mission.

To apply, submit a cover letter or video (no longer than 1 page or 1 minute), resume, and three references to katie@utahdonorcollaborative.com by June 1.
